FAQ

What is visa 407, and how does SBB's Australia path program work?

Visa 407 is Australia's Training visa, which lets you go to Australia to learn a trade and build real skills at an Australian business in the field you are pursuing.

SBB handles the whole journey: skills assessment, foundation and language preparation, placement through our partner Australian Internships, then completing the sponsorship and visa paperwork for you.

Who is the 407 program for? What do I need to get started?

It suits students, recent graduates or people already working who are targeting one of the fields our partner is currently hosting.

Basic requirements: 18 or older, a study background or experience in the right field, and English good enough for the job. Each field has its own requirements; click each card in the What You'll Do section for the details.

My English isn't strong yet, can I still go on 407?

Yes, if you start early. Most fields require good to strong English (equivalent to IELTS 5.5), while Early Childhood and Aged Care need IELTS 6.0.

The SBB path builds applied English in parallel with preparing your profile, practising hard until you are confident enough before going to Australia.

What fields does 407 place students into in Australia?

Our partner Australian Internships hosts many areas across Australia: Professional, Hospitality, STEM, Stipend, Virtual, Early Childhood Education and Aged & Disability Care.

Specific spots depend on the field and hiring timing. You can see each area's requirements and duration in the What You'll Do section.

How long does the journey take from the start to landing in Australia?

The journey follows clear steps, not sign up and wait:

  • 1 · Initial assessment: see whether your profile is truly a fit for the Australia path.
  • 2 · Foundation building: mindset, conduct and language skills.
  • 3 · Placement through partners: Australian Internships finds a suitable position.
  • 4 · Review & departure: complete the sponsorship, apply for visa 407 and go to Australia.

The timeline depends on each person's starting point. You will get a roadmap with specific milestones during your consultation.

Do you get paid going to Australia on the 407 stream?

It depends on the field. Areas like Hospitality, Early Childhood and Aged Care are paid positions; Stipend comes with a monthly allowance; while Professional, STEM and Virtual are usually unpaid positions.

The exact rate depends on the position and the host business. What matters most is that you learn a real trade and build international experience.

Roughly how much does the 407 program cost?

The cost depends on the field, the duration and the position in Australia, so instead of a generic number, SBB breaks down each item transparently right in the consultation.

The program is split into stages with flexible support options, so families do not have to shoulder the entire cost right at the start.

Does SBB handle the sponsor and visa? Who is Australian Internships?

Yes. SBB is the exclusive representative in Vietnam of Australian Internships, one of Australia's leading training and internship host organisations.

The partner handles the business placement and visa 407 sponsorship; SBB stays with you throughout the preparation and visa application.

Visa 407 is a training stream, so will I be sent over as cheap labour?

No. Visa 407 is designed for learning a trade and building real skills, with a clear training plan at the host business.

That is why SBB prepares your profile and field direction carefully from the start, so you go on the right stream and truly learn a trade.

What if I'm refused a visa or change my plans midway?

SBB prepares the paperwork and interview carefully to maximise your chances of approval.

Situations like an unfavourable profile or a change of plans all have clear options and policies, discussed transparently from the start so you feel secure about your rights.
